DanceworX was formed in 1986, originally as adult ballroom and latin classes in Cranleigh and Wonersh. Like any school, it has undergone various changes - including a 10 year hiatus when it was
absorbed into Hurleys Danceworld in Guildford. We emerged again in 2003 when Anthony Hurley retired and we moved from the High Street studios.
Since then, we (Caroline and Vicky) have continued to train adults and children, both through private lessons and classes - for medals, just for fun, weddings, and for professional
qualifications. We organise a bi-annual show, where the children can take part in our themed presentation to parents and friends. Projects in the past have included "Dancing through time" , "Music
from the Musicals" and "Dancing Around the World"
We both passionately believe that dancing should be affordable and available for everybody and made the decision long ago to avoid compulsory termly fees. We are now a dedicated junior medallist
school, with classes for children and 1:1 training for both adults and children, taking part in the IDTA medallist system and training the next generation of teachers.
